Marion Lewis Elected to Board of Social Venture Partners International

Tachyon Solutions CEO lends experience and expertise to help strengthen and expand fast-growing philanthropic organization

Pittsburgh, PA - Monday, November 08, 2004

Tachyon Solutions, Inc., a leading developer of custom technology solutions, today announced that its CEO, Marion Lewis, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Social Venture Partners International (SVPI), a global network of individuals who seek to make meaningful contributions to nonprofit organizations through sharing their skills, time, and financial resources. Ms. Lewis will serve a three-year term and take on the role of Board secretary with the fast-growing philanthropic organization. With 23 affiliates and more than 1,500 members across the United States and Canada, SVPI has invested more than $14 million in nonprofit causes to date.

"I am honored to be joining such a fabulous group of people," Lewis said. "Members of the SVPI board not only have great vision, but the process and contacts to make things happen, and I look forward to working with them to help the organization build its brand and continue its growth."

Ms. Lewis has been active in Social Venture Partners for more than four years. In 2000, she and Tachyon President Jeanette Thomas helped launch an affiliate in Pittsburgh, PSVP.

"The technology economy was still booming and things were going very well for us," Lewis recalls. "We were both at a point in our lives where we wanted to start giving something back rather than just writing checks, and SVP offered us the chance to be part of something new and different."

Since forming, PSVP has been recognized as a leader among SVP affiliates for its fast growth. In its first eight months of operation, PSVP attracted more than 45 partners. Today, the group has over 80 partners, and has invested more than $300,000 in nonprofits in the Pittsburgh region.

"We are extremely pleased to have a professional of Marion's caliber joining our board," said SVPI Executive Director Tom Donlea. "With her entrepreneurial instincts and civic-minded approach to things, Marion will prove an invaluable addition as we seek to strengthen and expand our organization on a global basis."
