Prior to developing the new extranet, 1nSight, the 1NService community relied on email communications as the core mechanism for collaboration. This included facilitating joint customer opportunities, communicating human resource needs, and sending out company updates and notifications. With affiliates spread across the U.S. and Canada, 1NService realized their community had outgrown e-mail communication.
With Ektron CMS400.NET managing the 1nSight web site content, members now have the ability to easily communicate through the extranet. Member companies can create their own profile pages and have the ability to update and make changes as needed, guaranteeing that information shared within the community is timely and accurate. Member companies can also catalog their personal information, areas of expertise, skills and certifications, making it easy for users to search and find the resources they need. Bottleneck issues that used to occur when member information was distributed have also since been dissolved with the use of the CMS system.
